DIALOGUE BETWEEN SALYM ABDULLAH MUHAMMAD AND JULIET SMALL
What kind of ancient monuments did you see out their?

“I saw some pyramids and the ziggurats with the ancient cuneiform written inside. When you go deeper into the Ziggurats and Pyramids you can see some of the ancient carvings of Deities that the Sumerians worshiped over there like Ashtar / Ishtar. They use to call her Sin Nana and they use to worship her and they even said Abraham used to worship her and other deities. I can’t remember their names but a lot of them can be found in The Holy Tablets. Every thing I was told about Ishtar and Abraham as it relates to the scriptures The Master Teacher Dr. Malachi Z.York has already taught us about. The crazy thing about it is that when I speak to religious people in America they are in denial about some of the things the Master Teacher teaches us but I have come to the realization that all one has to do is travel if they doubt and the people in their perspective places will confirm the information. You know, it felt like I had first hand information. Truth is acceptance but facts is confirmation. It was like the scrolls that the Master Teacher wrote were coming to life.”
What books do you think of first based on the historical structures you encountered while in Iraq?
“The Holy Tablets being that Iraq is Ancient Sumer and the Baptism Ceremony because it had a lot of information about Ancient Sumer. I always thought about those scrolls.”
What kind of books did you bring out there with you?
“With me I took The Degree of Christ-ism, The Degree of Muhammad-ism, The Holy Tablets, The Black Book (The Sacred Records of Neter: A’aferti Atum-Re) and the Gold book (Sacred Records of Tama-Re). All of these books were written by the Master Teacher Dr.Malachi Z.York. I was in a great place to put the knowledge to the test and boy did the information pass; with flying colors. I remember showing some of the people from my platoon the Degree of Muhammad-ism. They seemed interested in it. So I had let them read it. Some said this information is deep, but I don’t suggest you take that out of town because it can cause a lot of hostility because of the information they saw about Islam, and the way that Dr. Malachi Z. York was taking it apart (the type of Islam that they teach). When we went to town I would build with some of the people of Iraq who spoke English on information from The Degree of Muhammad-ism. We would get into little debates. When I saw the debate starting to get out of hand, I would give them my salaam and call it the day. But it was a different experience. I might be going out there again in the year 2007. I am not looking forward to it because of the violence that’s happening out there. A lot of the soldiers are getting killed. If I have to go then I’ll be alright. I’ll just keep the ancient ones in front of me. I’ll keep praying and do my best to make it back so that I can be with my family.”
Are the Iraqi’s as violent as they are perceived to be by people in America?
“Well, they are violent towards Americans in general, because of us being over there. Majority of them really don’t want us over there. The ones that do want us over there is the Shi’ite, a sect of Muslims because they felt like they were being oppressed by the Sunni Muslims under Saddam Hussein. There is a lot of violence in Iraq because you have the Sunnis fighting against the Shi’ite and even some Christians are over there at war. America is opening up stores over there and providing jobs. That is the up side. However, the type of stores that’s being opened over there are not characteristic of the type of stores that Saddam Hussein allowed when he was in power. Take for instance, they are starting to open up some liquor stores over their in Iraq which back in the days when Sodom was in power that would have never happened, so a lot of the Sunnis are angry about that. Based on what I get from the people out there, they are mad at Americans being over there because they feel they just came trying to run their country.”
Are they receptive to Black people that may come from America?
“As far as you being Black / Nubian, if they know that you are familiar with Islam they would practically worship you; especially if you are truly aware of the teachings of the Qur’aan. When I used to kick some information out of the Qur’aan with them they would come over and some of them would want to kiss you, even men. You know I wasn’t too fond of that. Some would even offer their daughters over to me. Other, than that many others would just look at me as to say, “What am I doing out there as a black man. This is not my war.”
Yeah! What was you doing out there? Why did you join the military?
“Back in 1979, I was 17 years old. A lot of young brothers that I was hanging out with were being locked up. Some of them started robbing people and stores. The streets were getting ruff. The brothers were either dying or going to jail. So I stopped wanting to be around that. I thought I would have a better chance in the military. I wanted to get away so I decided to join the military and that’s how I got in.”
“Well, I work for the department of finance and I used to notice that a lot of the males that were on the job would not be there as much. I always wondered why they don’t come to work as often as I was. When I started inquiring people started saying they are in the military and they get paid from their job and from the military. That made me want to go back even though I was out for about 13 years after I got out the Marine Corps back in May 1996.”
How did you find out about the Nuwaubian doctrine?
“I was based in North Carolina. When I went back to North Carolina there was a brother by the name of Jamal from Philly who was a Muslim who had got in contact with me. He said that he got my name and number through the head Corps about all the different Muslims that were on base. And he was contacting all of the Muslims on base and forming a community there. He said they were having a big meeting and asked if I was interested in coming. So I said sure I’d come. I went to the Muslim meeting. There were different sects of Muslims there. I was in the Nation of Islam at the time and I went over to the Sunni school of thought when Elijah Muhammad died and there were the Shi’ites, some civilian Muslims that lived in the area were there was one brother from the Ansar Allah Community that was in the military there. When every one was telling their story about how they were introduced to Islam, I told them I was affiliated with the Nation of Islam. A lot of the Muslims there said I was not a real Muslim because I was in the Nation of Islam. They said you got to take your Shahada brother; you got to take your shahada. I said alright, so I took my shahada. Then they started giving me little 5-6 pages pamphlets on how to make salaat so I took them. After the meeting the brother from the Ansar Allah community had approached me and said, “I got a book for you brother so you can study how to make salaat”. It was the Ansar salaat book that Dr. Malachi Z. York wrote which was about 100 pages. I said this looks like a deep book brother. He said, “yea Imam Issa (Dr.York) did this to not only help you learn how to make salaat but to give you the reason why we make it”. I said alright and took it.”
“I had started reading some of the other books that the other Muslims gave me. I was kind of reluctant to read that book because it was so thick. A few days later I started reading the book and I was amazed. I could not stop reading it. That is how I got familiar with the Ansars. So the next time we had Juma I was talking to the brother about the book. I said, “I see this picture on the front. Is this Imam Issa. He said yea man, he is from Brooklyn. He has a big community out there. This was in November 1982. I got out of the military in June 1983. He was telling me that if I was not going to re-enlist I was blessed because I would be right around the community. He said the first thing I should do when I get home is try to familiarize myself with the brothers and sisters there. When I got out it took me a couple months before I went down there. I probably was never going to go down there. As fate would have it I was looking for a job down in Manhattan around the world trade center and I saw a brother named Marshal propagating around the world trade center. So I greeted him and told him that I heard about the Ansar Allah Community from one of the brothers who was in the military but I had not been down there yet. Marshal started giving me a lot of information and I was overwhelmed by the information. In fact, the brother Truelight reminds me of the brother Marshal because of his youth, ability to articulate, and his sense of humor. Anyway, the brother Marshal and I talked for about a good hour and from that time I was like I got to get down there. He told me that there were question and answer classes every Sunday if I would like to get more familiar with the doctrine that The Master Teacher Dr. Malachi Z. York was bringing forth. That was how I started going and really got familiar with the doctrine in the later part of 1983.
How did it feel as a Nuwaubian to see the sacred carvings (cuneiform) on the wall?
“Well it was a blessing to be there just to see that. It was truly a marvelous experience because I have never seen anything like it. To actually see the cuneiform from hundreds of thousands of years ago still there, you can see the actual history on the wall. You start thinking of the ancient Sumerians people that existed during that time, and to be their in this day and time was truly a blessing, but I thank the Most High for blessing us with the Master Teacher Dr.Malachi Z.York and I also thank the Most High that I made it back home.”
